Testimonial videos
Nothing will sell a prospective buyer quicker than hearing from one of your customers about the great experience they’ve had with your product or service!
Every business (yep, every … single … one) should, at the very least, have a written testimonial on their website and on their various social media platforms. Do you know what’s more effective than a written testimonial? A video testimonial!
It doesn’t matter if you run a law firm, if you’re a dog-babysitter, if you manage a team of business coaches, or if your crew installs windows, you should have your current or former customers or clients singing your praises!
Social Proof
Testimonials provide “social proof” of how effective your offering is. Let’s face it … you are going to be a little biased towards your own offers because you are heavily invested in them. Consumers know this, and that’s why it’s so important to have other people acknowledge the value of your products and services. Testimonials from current or former customers help you build trust with potential customers. When a prospect sees someone else that is HAPPY or SUCCESSFUL after using your product or service, they will be more inclined to buy from you because they will want that feeling (or result) for themselves.
Emotional Impact
I made the point that video testimonials are more effective than written testimonials. This is because a video testimonial will allow your prospects to see the joy on the faces of your current customers, or hear the satisfaction in their voices as they explain how your product or service solved their problem. Video allows prospects to feel the enthusiasm (or relief) through your customer’s body language and tone of voice … and you just cannot capture that with text alone!
Endorsement with Personality
As your customers speak about your product/service, they’re also displaying their personalities. Since they are (most likely) similar to other people you will be selling to, their energy on camera will make their endorsement more relatable and persuasive to prospective buyers.
Effective Across All Of Your Platforms
Testimonial videos can be effectively implemented into each of your online platforms. I already mentioned having them on your website, but they can be used as organic posts or paid advertisements on your social media sites, and they can be included in email marketing campaigns.
To Conclude …
Now that you realize the importance of having other people touting the benefits of your products and services, you should start reaching out to a few of your current or former customers and getting them on camera. Have them tell others about how your product or service solved their problems or positively impacted their lives.
